If you have ever wanted to race a high-powered
stock car or Indy-style race car, now's
your chance. Rack Room Shoes, in partnership
with the Jeff Gordon Racing School, has
announced a high-speed promotion in honor
of Father's Day and graduations, June 1
through July 8, 2007. Sweepstakes entrants
have a chance to win one of 13 first place
prizes and 26 second place prizes, featuring
exciting racing experiences with the well-known
Jeff Gordon Racing School.
Jan Mauldin, Rack Room Shoes director of
marketing, said, "Dads, grads, and
anyone else who wins can satisfy the need
for speed and experience the exhilaration
of racing actual NASCAR Nextel Cup race
cars used by professional NASCAR Nextel
Cup drivers. Winners will receive expert
instruction with the famed Jeff Gordon Racing
School at their choice of one of 11 speedways
across the U.S."
Thrill seekers can enter to win at any
of the 342 Rack Room Shoes' stores nationwide.
Thirteen first place prizes valued at $4,998
each will be awarded, featuring two Jeff
Gordon Victory Lane Race Experience packages
that also include a $1,000 Visa Gift Card
for travel. Twenty-six second place prizes
valued at $798 will also be given away that
each feature two Qualifier Race Experience
packages at the Jeff Gordon Racing School.
First and second prize winners will also
receive graduate certificates, printed lap
times, souvenir racing licenses, and insurance
coverage.
Mauldin noted, "This is an opportunity
of a lifetime for racing fans and those
who simply like to drive fast. The Victory
Lane package is 40 laps of heart pounding
excitement, while the Qualifier prize features
eight laps around some of the world's greatest
superspeedways. Cars used at the Jeff Gordon
Racing School include those actually raced
by top NASCAR drivers such as Dale Earnhardt,
Jr., Michael Waltrip, and Jeff Gordon, himself."
The 11 tracks that may be selected by winners
include such well-known venues as Lowes
Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC, Homestead
Miami Speedway in Florida, Talladega Superspeedway
near Birmingham, AL, and Texas Motor Speedway
in Ft. Worth, TX.
Mauldin said friends and family are encouraged
to watch those racing, take photographs,
and videotape their champions, as they go
for the checkered flag. No previous racing
experience is necessary; however, participants
must be able to operate four-speed transmission
cars. A driver's license is required and
those driving must be at least 18 years
of age. Winners will have until July 2008
to use their prizes.
